patience grasshopper...good things are coming...

Good Morning Y'all,

It's Friday and things here at Chez Lenaburg are looking up. Thanks so much for ALL the advice on how to beat the blahdy, blah, blahs. Sunshine, exercise, prayer and time with friends have all been added to my daily regimine. Sometimes I forget how much of an extrovert I am and how spending time with others really recharges me.

Thanks for helping a girl out. But then, you guys are the best and never leave me hanging. I truly have the most spectacular blog readers in the universe.

Just sayin...

Anyway unto my news for the day.

After three years of daily prayers, many Novenas to St. Joseph, masses offered up and general begging and pleading with Our Lord, Jerry has a new job!!

That's right my friends. God is faithful in all things, at all times. He answers prayers, in His time, in His way. It is our job to be patient, persevere in prayer and sacrifice but to never give up hope.

Passionate Perseverance baby!! That's how we roll.

We were so excited when all the paper work was done yesterday, that we emptied the change jar and headed out for a little cocktail and some bacon wrapped jalepeno poppers. You know my guy had to celebrate with bacon and booze!!

In two weeks Jerry will leave NG, where he has faithfully served for 16 years and begin a new adventure with a much smaller company. The opportunities for professional growth and challenge are much greater in this new position and my guy is so excited, it's pretty fantastic.

On top of that, for the first time in seven years, we will bring in more money than will go out. THAT is a freakin miracle!! I am overwhelmed with gratitude to the Good Lord for providing this opportunity for our family.

Ephesians 3:20 proves true one more time. The generosity of God can NEVER be outdone.

What does this mean for our friend-raising plans? Well, we have prayerfully decided to leave the current friend-raising effort up until the goal is met. This is one of the larger balances we carry, so it would be awesome to be able to retire it. We are just so damn grateful for all of the help, especially over the last year as we laid our girl to rest and began a new life without her.

The remainder of the debt we will take care of ourselves over the course of the next three to four years. Now that God has answered this prayer for new employment and a raise, we will do our best to honor Him and His provision.

Thank YOU to all of you for sticking with us and lifting us in prayer these past three years for this specific request. Thank YOU for your very kind and generous donations to help reduce our debt incurred while caring for our sweet Courtney.

I am beyond excited for my husband and for the opportunity that the Lord has honored us with. I am excited that this will be our LAST friend-raiser for Courtney's debt. It's not always easy to humble yourself and ask for help. In doing so you can open yourself up to judgement and criticism. Both have come our way, but in the end, I would do anything for my family, humiliation be damned.

Courtney in September of 2014

Thank you sweet Courtney for interceding for your Daddy and helping guide him in his decision making. This is a job Daddy would never even considered while we were caring for you due to the commute. So if you could continue to watch out for him, Mama would be so grateful.

If you feel called to help with this final public effort in paying off this balance please see the information below on how you can help.

This new job will bring some changes to our family's daily comings and goings. It will require me to get back to my homemaking roots including meal planning and scheduling household chores, since Jerry's commute will double (trust me that's the only "bad" part of this) I may even re-visit my FlyLady notes. Stranger things have happened.

Please feel free to pass along our final friend-raising efforts to any and all you wish. Let's get this one done and done so we can move forward and talk about more exciting things like Fall Fashion trends, sewing projects and making cookies.

Make way for the Lenaburgs. New beginnings for three coming right up.

help pay off medical debt from caring for our beautiful Courtney

This will be our last public friend-raising goal. It is $9,748.23. So far we have raised $975.00 of it leaving $8773.23 left to raise. This will eliminate the balance on credit card used for Courtney's durable medical equipment, specifically her floor mats, special chair covers, bolsters for the sides of her bed, special waterproof bedding, soft lamb skin covers to help with skin breakdown, therapy pillows and Tumbler chairs that insurance considered "not necessary for quality of life". Needless to say we disagreed. She sat in the Tumbler so often that we had to replace the chair twice and insurance would only help with one. In most of the photos of Courtney she is in her Tumbler.  If we can raise the full amount, we can pay it off and be that much closer to our larger goal. One thing at a time. Thank you so much for your help.

The entire medical debt is extensive, it now stands at $63,900.00. It's a lot and will take years to whittle down, but with your generous help we are getting closer. Anything helps. Anything. So, I will keep it at the bottom of my posts for awhile. Every time we pay something off, I will change the picture above.

You all have already given so much to our family. Our prayers are with you and we are so very grateful. We can never repay that kindness. So thank you...just thank you.
